Picking Daisys

Neko sits in the middle of a huge field that stretches for miles. She sit picking daisys and pulling the petals off of them.

"I came back here to look for my real parents, but..."

*A tear rolls down her cheek*

"They're dead already..."

*smiles*

"The air is so clean here, meow! I've been away from this place for so long that I've forgotten how pretty it is!"

*a butterfly flies past her face*

*she starts to chace it like a cat*

[suddenly a bush nearby moves]

He walked around looking at all of the flowers. "I've never seen so many of these things.." He bent down and picked one, standing strait again and looking at it. "It's strange.." He started to walk again, then stopped when he seen Neko. "What are you doing?"

*stops chasing the butterfly*

*embarassed a little*

"W-well... I came back here to see if I could find my parents, meow."

*looks away*

"But I forgot that they left a long, LONG, time ago..."

He noodded, then stood beside her. "My parents left a long, LONG, time ago too.."

"Did you see them die?"

He looked at her. "I KILLED them..."

"By that, do you mean Shakuku killed them, meow? Shakuku isn't you and you should stop refering to it as 'You'."

*looks down at the flowers*

I didn't kill them, but being only six, I thought that I did. I don't know how I escaped everything that happened. I don't know how I got away..."

He looked down, feeling the cool wind hit his face. "You don't know what happened to them..?"

"I do know... I do, I killed... I killed the-"

*looks away quickly*


"Killed them... Long time ago..."

"I-I... I killed them."

He looked at her. "You killed your parents as well?"

"I saw them running... Daddy told me not to chase them, he said he'd kill them if he saw them again... Meow, but something made me run. And daddy shot them. I never should have ran outside to get them."

*starts picking the petals off the daisey's again*

He looked away. "I'm sorry to hear that.."

"It doesn't matter, meow. That was a while ago."

*looks up and smiles*

"And besides, I have something to fill the void with."

He looked at her. "What would that be..?"

"You."

He looked a bit shocked. "I am the one who fills the void ..?" He looked away. "Why did you choose me..?"

*shrugs*

"Cuz you're the best person in the world. I have a family now. You gave me a family. Swiss-chan, Miss Tamari, Kankuro-kun, Kani-san, Hitori-san, and of course, you! they're my family. You gave me my own family, which I never had."

*puts her hand to her for head, like a soldier*

"THANK-YOU, SIR!"

He looked at her, then stiffled a laugh. "No problem.. but I don't know how I did all that.. didn't you meet Swiss, Kani, and Hitori on your own..?"

"Maybe, meow. But I would've left Konoha if I didn't meet you. Luckey me!"

"Oh.." He looked away. "I was lucky that I met you too.." He looked at her again. "Your the one keeping me alive.."

*sticks out her hand for him to shake (she's still sitting down*

"It was a pleasure meeting you, Gaara-kun."

He looked at her, then shook her hand. "It was a pleasure meeting you too, Neko." He sat down beside her. "So, how will we celebrate remembering the day we met?"

"Should we have a festival? Right here, meow?"

"Alright." He gave a smal smile.
