Help me! I Think I'm Going Insane!

Kani sat in the dark shadow of a large tree, although it was only the afternoon the light on the beach was already dimming. She had her knees pulled up to her chest with her arms around them and her head on her knees. Her eyes were shut and she wore an expression of pain.

I've told you over and over again! You are not going crazy!

"Well then why can I hear you?" she asked.

It's called your subconcious, I'm you talking to yourself.

"So either way I'm insane!"

"I wouldnt call it insane...just lonely. Hell I have conversations with myself all the time."

Kani looked up, her eyes wide and somewhat demonic looking.

"No, no, you don't get it. I'm not talking to myself...I'm not...I do that too but that with myself...not with...with-"

She shook her head and stared at the sand, her eyes still wide.

"-her."

*He laughed.* "Got abit tongue tied there. I know what you mean."

Kani looked up at him, her eyes confused and somewhat hopeful.

Come on Kani! You're going to listen to him?

Kani made a quiet noise that sounded like a wounded animal before turning away from him.

"How? How can you...?"

"Im never alone." *he tapped his forehead*

In this state, she couldn't remember what Raku was talking about. She turned again to look at her, her eyes more hopefull then ever.

"Can you help me?" she asked, a tone of begging in her voice.

Kani, please, anyone but him. But you don't need anyone, you're fine. I'm sorry if I'm scaring you but-

"And that's why I'm doing this!" Kani screamed.

*He looked to the ocean and smiled.* "I guess I really am the only one who can solve these problems."

Kani shivered and hugged her legs tighter, closing her eyes and putting her head back on her knees.

"I don't really care who can help right now..."

She shivered again and bit her lip.

"I hate saying this: but I'm desperate."

*He looked down at her*
"Heh, throw all feeling away first. Then come talk to me."

Kani looked up at him, her eyes pleading.

"No. Please stay... I really don't want to be alone right now."

*he held out his hand*

Kani looked from him to his hand, confused. Then she reached out her own and took his hand. Then stopped. What now?

"i will help you. Just do as i say okay?" *he smiled*

Kani nodded.

"Anything..."

"Close your eyes and speak to it."

Kani closed her eyes and lowered the barriers that had taken her hours to put up. She felt her concious touch another and she shrank away from it.

"What do I say?" she asked, her voice vacant.

"Take control.. force it into submission."

Force me into submission huh? *laughs* You couldn't if you tried *growls* Why the hell are you in my head? You were silent for so long, why appear now?! She growled.

*He stood expecting the same reaction he got outta Neko and Nibi*

Stands on a cliff some away and spying on them..
Wispering: "...what are they doing... i do... dont understand..."

Kani, Kani, Kani... you're not as innocent as you used to be, now are you? *laughs* Please just accept me, that's all I want. I don't want to cause you trouble. They sounded sincere, but Kani couldn't just go on words. That's all you want? I don't believe that! Not for a second! Get out of my head, I don't want you. You'll learn. But for now, please just leave me be. I mean no harm to anyone...at least, not to you. As for others...you tell me what to do. Not entirely, no where near, but I won't do anything to hurt your friends. You can't do anything! You're in my head! Are you trying to crush my self-esteem?! Kani closed her eyes and smirked. This person sounded a lot like her when she wasn't trying to be polite. How about another chance? I promise I won't come unless invited. I didn't mean to make you go insane.
