A Little Disorientated

"Because I know I'm here for something." He didn't move, not replying to the whining Shukaku. "I will leave if you wish."

He turned, but didn't walk off just yet, tilting his head to look at her, his face never changing from blank.

"Well then what is it!" she screamed. She looked over her shoulder at him. "Just tell me, or whatever the hell it is! Just tell me and leave, I don't have all day!"

Kani, calm down. Mei, no! This - this is just getting too... Tiring? Annoying? Troublesome? I dont know...but all I know is that if he doesn't tell me and leave soon that...I dont even know.

((ooc: Lmao that's why he stopped and looked at her, because I plan to make him stay a little longer XP))

"I never said I knew what it was." He looked away. "How would I, anyway, especially after what Shukaku did."

"Well what the hell did Shukaku do to you!"

"I'm surprised you haven't figured it out yet." He turned around, his expression how it had always been before he became Kazekage. "The demons within the Jinchuuriki are known for their great power. Shukaku's intentions consist of only doing what pleases him, and most of the time it effects others in a negative way. Sometimes, he raises offers for me, and most of the time I refuse. Offers along the lines of, 'Let me out and I will kill them for you', or 'If you give me some free time I will not hurt anyone close to you'. You see, when I realized that everyone was leaving me, I knew there was something wrong. Neko left, Love is gone, Temari and Kankuro are missing, and you are like some sort of puppet. I suppose the weak and emotional side of me wasn't able to handle it, so, when Shukaku brought up the offer to lock away every single emotion, I didn't refuse. It was probably the only way I would have confronted you about what he told me."

Kani tapped her foot, not believing a word. "Yeah, right. Gaara, tell me the truth. I don't believe that the reason why you're suddenly all nothing about everything is because Shukaku made you like that. You act like that on a daily basis."

"I did act like this on a daily basis, but not to you. I'm sorry Kani, but if you do not believe me, than that is your problem." He shook his head slightly. "I couldn't care less."

Kani tapped her foot, getting more and more inpatient every second. Along with that annoyance, the unknown feeling grew. She looked away from him. "Sure, sure, I'll just add another thing to my list," she snapped. "Now why don't you just get out of my house if you're not going to tell me why you're here."

She turned and decended into her basement. The walls were lined with mats with weapons hanging above them. Storage bins lined the small walls beside the door: they were filled with kunais, and other small weapons like that.

Kani didn't bother to turn on the light, as the dark made her feel more comfortable.

Don't do anything crazy, alright? Shut up. I'll do what I want.

Shukaku laughed again, and Gaara just stood there. 'Hehe.. you just got owned. Be quiet. Why don't you follow her, it's the best thing to do. Follow her into a dark basement where she probably has many things that are considered dangerous and she is also probably very pissed off. Good idea. The best of the best.'

With that, he walked to the basement door, staring down the stairs and wondering what Kani was doing down there, but not exactly caring.

Kani reached out a hand and felt long the smooth, flat edge of a blade hanging on the wall. She smiled and pulled it down. She didn't nessesarily know what she was going to do with it, but it didn't really matter. She liked having weapons in her hands. She looked towards the stairs as she heard Gaara's footsteps on it. "That might not be the smartest idea," she whispered into the darkness.

"I don't exactly care otherwise." He replied, hearing her whispers somehow. With that, he decided that since he really didn't care, it wouldn't matter anyways, so he went down the first step. "Are you suggesting I should be afraid?"

He took another step. "Because it really doesn't bother me. I could die today and not care if I did."

"I'd say that you should be afraid of me, but you wouldn't care and I'm probably not a match for you. Or maybe I am. Maybe you'll find out. Or maybe you wont." She smiled deviously and tapped the end of the blade against the ground. "I'm not entirly right in the head right now, so I'm saying this for both our benefits: watch out. Because I'm not going to purpously harm you, but like I said: I'm not right in the head."

"Maybe you never were, maybe I don't care. Maybe you don't believe me, maybe you don't want to. Or maybe there will be a blood bath, and maybe I will die. Maybe I won't." He took a few more steps, realizing that he didn't have his gourd, and knowing that this place probably didn't have any sand. Which meant he was at a lack of defense. If she tried to attack him, he wouldn't be able to use sand. Hooray. "I don't understand why you wouldn't."

"Why I wouldn't attack you? I wouldn't attack you because you're still my friend. I don't care about what you know about me or what's wrong with you or anything, you're still Gaara, you're still my friend. My goals in life are to protect my friends, and to defeat the Akatsuki. Both of those go hand in hand, since you and Neko are wanted my the Akatsuki. Now, if I hurt you or killed you, my one goals would fail. I would have failed to protect a friend and the Akatsuki could come and steal your body." She cocked her head to the side and stopped walking. Her insane smile grew. "Do I make myself clear?"

"Well, actually, they wouldn't take my dead body. Once I die, Shukaku goes with me." If he hadn't been so blank, he would be smirking as well. He took another step. "So, it would be better off if you did kill me, since the Akatsuki's plan of world dominance would be at a loss."

Kani nodded. "Well, that removed one goal from the problem. But still, but biggest one would have been terminated." She reached up and removed another blade from the wall. She usually didn't use the two that she held, but who really cared.

Put the swords down Kani. You cant tell me what to do Oh fucking hell I can't, unfortunatly. But you need to or you're going to hurt somebody. And there's a big chance that it's going to end up being you.

He stopped, sitting down on the step. "So, what do you plan to do now, Kani?"

Kani shrugged and drew her arm back. One of the swords flew from her hand and stuck in the wall, only about a foot above Gaara's head. She smiled. "I'm not sure, actually."

Kani! Shut up Mei, nothing you say will stop me. No, listen, Kani, I'm begging you for your sake, listen to me! Put the sword down and get out of the basement!

He looked up at the sword, then reached up his hand and pulled it out of the wall, bringing it down so he could look at it, sliding his fingers along the sharp end of the blade. "Neither am I, really."

Kani laughed and scratched the stone floor with the tip of the sword. The sound that echoed around the room was like nails on a chalkboard, but ten times worse. Kani laughed even louder.

Kani! Listen to me! Please, please, please! Put the sword down!

Kani looked over at Gaara and smiled. "I really want to kill you right now..." she said softly.

"That's fantastic, I wonder if I've brought myself to this conclusion." He gave an empty smile, which went against his blank face. "It wouldn't exactly surprise me if you could. Why don't you, hm?"

Kani walked up to the stairs and stared at him, the sword hanging by herside. She smiled and raised it, pressing the tip of it to his forehead. Nothing stopped her, and nothing was going to. "You know, this is easy. I would have thought you'd be a challenge. It's like Raku said, you're weak." She applied a little more pressure, then paused. She wanted to savour the moment. Then she raised the sword and prepared to strike.

KANI!

Mei's voice rebounded around in her skull and Kani stopped the sword, stummbling backwards. She stepped off the last step and fell onto her butt, a look of shock and confusion on her features.

DON'T MAKE ME DO THAT AGAIN! DO YOU HEAR ME! BECAUSE I WILL IF I HAVE TO!!

He smirked, lifting his hand and touching his forehead. There was a small cut, and he wiped the blood from it. He brought the finger covered in blood to his lips, licking the blood off. He twirled the sword in his other hand around "Say what you want, listen to what you want. None of it really effects me either way. What's with the face? Can't do it? And you think I'm weak.. heh."

Kani growled and looked up at him. "Why do you say that I can't?" She picked up the sword that she had dropped, an insane look in her eyes. Then she walked up to Gaara and shoved the sword through his stomach.

KANI! Kani! No! What did you do!!

Mei's voice was weak and Kani barely noticed it. She smiled at Gaara, her hand still on the hilt of the sword.

Gaara lowered his head and coughed slightly, looking at the sword though his stomach blankly. He smirked again, blood sliding from his mouth, pulling up his hand with the sword in it and mimicing her moves, stabbing her through the stomach as well.

"Sometimes.. letting yourself get hurt... is a way to get your opponent.."
