Waiting For Gaara

Everything was quiet, and he glanced at Kani for a second. "Is there anything else you wish to speak of?"

Kani shook her head.

"No...I just wanted to see you and to ask you that. Now I'm just happy..."

"Your sure?"

Kani laughed a bit.

"Yes Gaara, I am completely sure."

She looked over at him.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"I'm not sure." He shrugged, looking away. "How are things with you and Neko..?"

Kani was silent for a moment.

"I think we're good...I haven't seen her since our fight..."

He nodded,looking away.

"Anything new?"

She shook her head again.

"Not really...I'm glad that I came back here. I've met some really nice people and I've gotten to see you again..."

"That's good.. there are very kind people around." He said, staring off somewhere.

"Ich and Asuran, Konohamaru and Ryu, and Malenko-"

She stopped suddenly.

He looked at her when she didn't finish her sentence.

"What's wrong?"

She shook her head, glad that he hadn't said anything.

"Nothing, nothing. S'all good."

"Sure, of course." He looked at her, suspicious. "I don't like being lied to, Kani."

Kani emmited a hard laugh.

"Very very funny. It's really nothing at all, I was just listing some people and I..."

She closed her eyes.

"Ryu's dead."

His eyes widened, and he blinked. "He's dead?"

His face turned to that of concern, and he looked away. "Do you know how Hitori is doing..?"

Kani half nodded.

"Last time I saw her she was in the hospital...something about the baby...then Raku-"

She spat his name.

"-had to come in and stress her out. She ran from the room before anyone could do anything."

She growled.

"I swear, I'm gonna kill Raku for doing that to her."

"What did he say to her..?"

Kani shook her head.

"Something about taking the kid away when he was at a certin age...I don't remember. Something about the kid being a demon...I don't remember."

"Hitori wont let that happen.. Or at least, I don't believe she will. Did she run off with the baby?"

"The baby wasn't born yet...and I doubt that she will. I certanly won't...that is...if Hitori doesn't want it to happen then I'll back her up."

"She shouldn't have her child be taken away by force, it isn't right."

Kani shook her head, her eyes still closed.

"It isn't. And you'd think that Raku would understand that...and it's his own brother's child too."

"I wonder what he's up to.."

Kani shrugged and opened her eyes.

"I dont know...but I want to know so that I can protect both Kuro and Hitori from it."

"If you find out, let me know, alright..?"
