Confrontations

Shukaku laughed within Gaara's mind, reconnecting the bond between his and Kani's minds. He was planning something evil, and he didn't inform Gaara about the connection, and he also blocked out Gaara's ability in hearing Kani's thoughts through the connection.

'Fool, why must you procrastinate?' Gaara took in a deep breath, giving a low sigh. 'Why must you bother me? Why not? Heh heh.. Could you stop? Why? I want my fun, and your going to give it to me. I never promised you anything. Never said you did. Well, I'm not giving you anything you want. Just be quiet. I'm not going to shut up until I get what I want. You know what I want. Yeah, and you'll just have to keep talking, because I'm not giving it to you. At least.. not yet.. What's the matter, wimp, can't deal with a bit of emotion? You did your whole life up until now. Oh, why have you forsaken me? Just shut up..'

He looked up, sighing again while staring at the night sky, totally oblivious.

Kani sighed and rubbed her temples.

Jeez. Calm down a little. You'd think that I was forcing you do to find the square root of the square root of pi. Don't think about you being- Shut up! Well soooooooory. I'm not the one thinking though, now am I? No, but you're forcing me to think certain things...things the I dont want to think about right now. Gaara will never find out that you died. Shukaku, oddly enough, stopped talking to listen to Kani and Mei argue. He chuckled, gathering all the new information he recieved. He sent a thought specifically to Kani and Mei. 'Oh ho ho, what do we have here? Would you mind restating that, Mei? I don't think I heard you properly.'

Kani turned around and stared at the ground, scared.

Oh god...Mei...what have you done! Listen, it wasn't my fault! How could I know that he was listening! I dont know...and I dont care. I told you not to say anything about it but now...

She bit her lip.

Shukaku...please...please don't tell Gaara.

She couldn't believe what she was saying, but there wasn't anything else she could do.

'Oh, what's this? Do I here... begging?! Ahh, would you like to repeat yourself, Kani?' Gaara was totally oblivious to their conversation, staring off at the sky.

Kani looked up and groaned quietly.

Damn it. Please Shukaku, don't tell Gaara. Please, please, please. You really have problems, dont you Shukaku.

'Yeah, I do, and I'll admit it. I can't help that I love the pain and suffering of others. So, you reaaaally don't want me to tell Gaara, right?' Shukaku laughed manically.

PLEASE! Please, please, please Shukaku! Just...please oh please don't tell him! I dont want him to freak out or worry or whatever else he would do. He would probably think that it was all his fault and I couldn't do that to him! Please Shukaku!

She closed her eyes and a couple tears silently rolled down her cheeks.

'Well, Kani.. should I really do that for you? You know, I have a lot of better things I could be doing other than helping you keep your secret. Why should I care whether Gaara is worried or blaming stuff on himself or not?' He laughed again, and Gaara blinked, looking at Kani. "What's wrong..?"

'Really, you'll have to do better than just begging. Offer me something, and maybe I'll keep your secret in return.' Gaara looked curious and worried, staring at Kani. 'It would take mere seconds for me to expose your secret. Think about it.'

What do you want?

She wasn't pleading anymore, her voice was blank, but it still had a hysterical edge to it.

I can't offer anything if I don't know what you want.

She raised and hand to her face to rub her eyes and wipe away the tears. She heard Gaara say something behind her, but she couldn't tell the exact words.

'Tell me more, and I'll promise to keep it a secret.' Shukaku chuckled, and Gaara asked Kani what was wrong again. 'Final offer.'

I had just kinda come out of hiding...after going into isolation after Gaara died...The Shinigage at the time came over to welcome me because he was knew and we started talking. I accidenly mentioned Gaara and Ryu, the Shinikage, told me he was alive. I told him he wasn't. We got into a fight, him trying to convince me and me ignoring him. Then it got into a real fight. I don't remember everything...but all I knew it that one minute I was running at him and the next my breathing was slowing and everything went black...

She stopped and tapped her fingers on the sides of her legs.

I woke up eventually, totally confused. Then one day I was at the Shadow Gates and this guy shows up and explains that he brought me back to life. Then he explained how I was kinda like a puppet...that I could have my own life and crap but whenever he called for me I had to come...

She shivered.

There! Now you know! I'm a zombie slash puppet thing who died and came back. I've told you everything, not please, please don't tell Gaara.

'Hmm.. Zombie puppet Kani. Well, you fulfilled your side of the offer. I'll keep your secret.' Shukaku laughed again, then stopped talking. Gaara took Kani by the shoulders and shook her lightly. "Kani?? Kani, are you okay..??"

Kani sighed and nodded once.

"Y-yeah. I-I'm fine," she said quietly.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but thank you.

'Your welcome, Kani.' He chuckled again, and Gaara looked slightly relieved, though, not entirely. "Are you sure..?"

(Shakaku should tell Gaara when Kani leaves, and then Gaara should find her and ask about it )

Kani nodded. "Y-yeah. I just think I should go back home..."

((ooc: Lmao he was planning to XD That, or he is going to blackmail her with it, so he gets what he wants all the time ))

"Why..?" He frowned. "What happened?"

(i think that he should just tell gaara. tell him emediatly after she leaves. LOL this is going to be fun)

Kani shook her head. "I'm just suddenly feeling really tired. Maybe it's the day finally catching up with me."

((ooc: Gaara will interrogate him then ))

"Alright.." He wasn't really convinced, but that didn't matter. "I guess if your tired.."

Kani nodded and then turned and hugged him, keeping her eyes on the ground. "I'll see you around. Keep safe." Then she sighed and poofed.

He watched her, then glared at the sky. "Shukaku? What did you do this time?"

'Heh.. why do you ask?' Shukaku laughed, and Gaara growled. 'I was merely gathering information for you, Gaara. You'd never guess what type of conversation Kani and I had just a few minutes ago.'

"I don't want your useless gossip, what did you do?!" He closed his eyes, concentrating on Shukaku. 'What? You talk to me like I'm guilty. You'll have to give me something in return, if you would like me to tell you the information I have recieved from Kani herself.'

"Always something in return.." Gaara mumbled, then decided he was too worried to let it go. "I'll let you have one hour of freedom.."

'One hour? I could smuggle that much out of a turtle and I wouldn't even get anything from it. You'll have to do better than that.' He sighed, crossing his arms. Turtle? "Fine, two hours. Maybe three, if you don't seriously hurt somebody."

'Hm, I suppose that would be my best offer from the likes of you. Alright, I guess I'll tell you.' Shukaku told Gaara everything Kani had told him to keep a secret, finding amusment in it. "She what..?"

'Yeah, she'd dead. Get over it. Oh, by the way, she asked me to keep that a secret. You wouldn't want to break her poor, fragile heart, now would you? I'm sure a zombie's heart is easily destroyed.. that would be fun to witness.. heh..' Gaara stared at the ground, wide-eyed. 'I suggest you keep it to yourself until she decides to tell you, if your that worried about your feelings, or hers. Or, you could take my side and just break her heart already. That's always fun, eh?'

Not really paying attention, Gaara lifted his hands into a hand sign, poofing from the canyon and off to some random place somewhere.
