Wandering Around

Kani turned around and saw that his hands were balled into fists. She walked over to him, her hands in her pockets.

"Gaara? What's wrong? Listen...I'm sorry for getting angry I just..."

She sighed.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm absolutely perfect." He said, lifting his head enough to glare at her. "Nothing. Entirely nothing. Could ever. Ever. Be wrong. At this very moment."

Kani stared at him, confused about his sudden mood change.

"Gaara. No. Something is wrong and I want to know what is."

"I'm not sure you care enough." He said rudely, still clenching his fists.

Kani stared at him.

"Gaara. Don't you ever say that. I care about you more then I care about myself. What's wrong?"

Her eyes were pleading, all traces of anger and annoyance gone.

"Why do you want to know?"

"Because I care about you and it seems like something's wrong. People don't just violently change their moods like that for no reason. What did I say?"

"You said enough." He turned quickly, facing his back to her.

Kani stared at the ground.

"I know this is hipocritical, but I'm sorry about anything I said. I was just...annoyed? Angry? I don't know...I guess that I've lost my touch with talking people. I don't know. You may not want to talk to me again after this but at least tell me what I did. Please."

She looked up.

"You didn't do anything.." He said, suddenly calm, and closed his eyes. He straightened his back, after being slightly hunched over, and turned back around. His voice had no emotion in it when he spoke again. "Your just here. And it's bothering me for some reason. The fact that.. that.."

He gritted his teeth, and opened his eyes, showing they had become completely black. He grabbed her by her shoulders and forced her to the wall,growling a bit.

"That you bothered to even show up."

Kani was majorly confused.

"What the hell are you talking about!? You mean that the fact that I came to see you is the reason why you're acting like this!?"

Then she remembered his black eyes.

"Gaara-" she said calmly. "Gaara, stay here. Stay right here."

"No!" He barked, tightening his grip. "I'm not staying here! I won't stay here!! I'll leave and never come back, forever!! I'll never come back!"

His eyes were extreamly close to hers, possibly two inches apart.

"Why do you have to be so difficult? What did I ever do to you?! And her. She's the same!! I don't even know how I can stand it!! What did I do to deserve something like this!? Nothing!! I don't deserve you two, and I never will !! So why the hell is it so hard to lea-"

His eyes suddenly went back to normal, widening, and his face became a mix of astonishment, confusion, and regret. Pulling his hands off her shoulders, he began backing away slowly.

Kani stared at him.

"Gaara? Who are you talking about? Who's 'she'?"

She shook her head.

"Gaara...what's wrong? What did I do? How am I being difficult?" she asked, starting to get a bit worried.

(seriously!!)

"I.. I'm sorry." He turned around, staring at the floor in disbelief.

"Please do not be concerned for any of that, it would be kind if you pushed it to the corner of your mind and never speak of it again."

And I probably spelt that wrong O_o))

Kani stared at him, still confused.

"What? Gaara...no! I don't want to push it to the back of my head! What was that about?!"

"It was nothing!" He said with a bit of harshness in his tone. "Nothing at all. Don't worry about it.."

Kani just stared at him.

"Nothing...Gaara...that wasn't nothing. Both of us know it. And how can I do anything but worry?"

"Just drop it. I apologize for it, but I will not speak of it any further."

Kani stared at him.

"I know everyone has secrets Gaara...but you have more than everyone in Suna put together. One of these days you're just going to be keeping everything to yourself and no one will ever be able to help you when you're in trouble. It's going to be your downfall Gaara, just remember that."

She turned to go.

He turned his head and looked at her through the corner of his eye.

"I honestly don't care."

Kani shrugged.

"Just don't expect me to be there for you."

Then she left, fighting some tears the whole way.

'That is exactly what I wanted to hear.'

After watching her leave, he made a hand sign and disappeared.
