Showing Ich Around

Ich heard something he didn't want to hear... he thought Kani told him the truth that she didn't hurt Itsuki, but she actually did it with her own conciousness... so he just turned his jutsu off, walked back into the house, and slept on the couch

(aren't you afraid now that Kani might come kill you? haha)

Kani sighed and quietly walked to her door and opened it, to see that Ich was sleeping on the couch with Oblivion on top of him. She smiled and went back into her room and sat down on her bed again.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing that I'm replaying all these things but it's good to remind myself that I have lots of people that I need to talk to

Ich didn't hear that and the fact that Kani did that while she was on a mild mental breakdown, and thinking that his first friend was a murderer that killed knowing it made him get nightmares

(TIMESKIP!!!!)

Kani, who had slipped out her window and left when she was sure that Ich was asleep, opened the door a crack to see if Ich was awake or not.

Ich was awake, petting Oblivion gently

Kani walked into the open concept room.

"Morning Ich. How did you sleep?"

"Good, you?" Ich asks, wanting to ask Kani about last night

Kani nodded slowly.

"Fine..."

She walked over to her kitchen.

"Do you want anything for breakfast?"

"Sure, but may I ask you something?" Ich asks with curiousity

Kani turned to him, leaning against the counter.

"Sure. What's on your mind?"

"It's about... Itsuki Haruhi... I heard you last night..." Ich says looking at the floor

Kani was confused for a second, but then realization hit her and she brought her hands up to her mouth.

"Itsuki Haruhi...oh my god..."

She shook her head.

"What...you..."

She lowered her hands and started to wring them together. She bit her lip, still slowly shaking her head.

"You...heard?"

She looked at him.

"Ich...you have to believe me...I never wanted-"

She sighed and looked at the floor, still biting her lip.

"This will be...very, very...hard to explain..."

"Calm down Kani, I just was going to ask for the full story... your side actually" Ich says truthfully, while having a half serious half calm face

Kani turned her head and stared up at the ceiling.

"I..."

She sighed.

"Let me think for a second...I need to figure out a way to say all this..."

She turned, so that her back was facing Ich. She put her hands on the counter and leaned on them for supports.

"Malenko sent me to...hurt...Kyo but I failed. He waited at my house until I came home. He wasn't all that happy but when I told him that it was either I die or come back...he said that he didn't want me to die. I told him that I could make it up to him...show him that I was able of doing anything he asked. Ich, you must remember that this was before I met anyone else and I didn't really have anything to hold me to this earth...except for him...so I did what he said, no questions asked. You could say that I did what he asked almost eagerly."

She paused.

"He told me that I could make it up...and he told me to go get Itsuki Haruhi. I asked where he was, and Malenko explained that it was a girl and that I could fine her at the Ramen shop, but to be careful because she was friend's with the Mizukage. I told him that it wouldn't be a problem, internaly laughing the whole time. So what if she was friend's with the Mizukage, I am the daughter of a Mizukage so...But then...you were there...Raku was there...and then you both left..."

She stopped.

"Backtrack for a second, never mind the last thing. Let me just say...you know the rest."

"Well... I would've done the exact same thing... if I was in your place" Ich says sincerely, understanding Kani

She sighed and nodded.

"I never really wanted...and then you found me after and I really couldn't believe that you believed me, even after going into my head. I was never a good liar but apparently I've gotten better..."

"I think you're right... and... well... It looks like since I believed you, that I've gotten to know you more, and that you're my friend now." Ich says truthfully

Kani was silent for a moment.

"Now you know why I told you over and over again why you shouldn't like me..."

She still stared at the counter.

"But," Ich explains, "I would've asked you to explain it and then I'll find out that you were like me..."

Kani was confused.

"What do you mean? You mean that you would have had me explain myself and then be friends with me anyway?"

She spun around, tears in the corners of her eyes.

"I'm a monster Ich! I have to do what I'm told...I've been created by a person who everyone hates!"

She stared at him, angry at herself that she hadn't guarded her thoughts. Not that she didn't trust Ich, she just should have known that sometimes people get curious. She kept her hands on the counter to support her. She shook her head.

"I shouldn't be alive...there's no point..."

"But if you weren't alive, I would've been alone still" Ich says, almost crying

Kani wrapped her arms around herself and closed her eyes.

"You can do better then me Ich...you really can. Neko's better for you...Raku is even better then me." She said the Raku part through clentched teeth, forcing the words out.

"But Kani, you say I could do better, but I've got a good friend, and she's right in front of me" Ich says truthfully, with a sincere tone in his voice

Kani bit her lip as she opened her eyes and stared at the floor.

"Ich...I'm flattered that I'm your best friends...but I'm really not the best person for you to be hanging out with. I'm afraid that-"

She bit her lip again, realizing that she was about to say too much.

"I don't care, because true friends stay together no matter what" Ich says, meaning every word he's saying with true sincerety
