What Am I Doing?

"Kani.. please.." He looked over to her again. "Shukaku is a part of me, and I had let my guard down for the slightest second.. that was my fault, and because of it, you're suffering. I can't do anything but take the blame and do what I feel is right for you."

"I don't care!" she yelled. "I don't care what happens to me Gaara...as long as you're ok."

She stared at him and then sat down. She put her head between her legs and closed her eyes.

"Gaara...I am fine. You're the one who needs to go to a hospital."

He was silent, staring down at her. He frowned, turning his head and slowly sitting down as well, staring at the ground. "I can.. do something.. that might help.."

Kani didn't move but she opened her eyes and looked at him.

He sighed, putting his middle and index finger to his chin, closing his eyes. He sat there, completely still and silent. Every now and then, his face would look angry, but it wouldn't last for long and would just change back into his blank expression.

"Gaara?" she asked quietly, after his face changed to angry and back. "Are you ok?"

He didn't answer her, concentrating completely on what he was doing. Soon enough, his body began to glow purple.

Kani watched for a moment before sitting up normaly.

What is he doing?

The glow disappeared after a minute or two, and he opened his eyes, lowering his hand. He looked over to Kani, noticing that she was staring. He sighed, slowly standing up and walking over to stand a few feet in front of her.

Kani looked up at him, wondering what the glow was.

He sighed. "I communicated with Shukaku and bribed him to lend me chakra so that I could take you to the hospital without indangering myself."

He held his hand out for her to use for support while standing.

Kani stared at him, trying to figure out how that worked.

"But...but what did you bribe him with?"

"..Mm.. I bribed him that I wouldn't end his existence in the near future.." He said, keeping his hand held out. "He took it kindly and gave me the smallest amount of chakra possible, though, thankfully enough to get us to the hospital.."

Kani kept on staring at him.

"Promise me something Gaara. If I let you take me to the hospital, then will you get yourself checked out as well?"

He slowly gave a nod. "Yes.. I will."

Kani gave a small smile and took his hand to help her get up.

"Ok."

He used his other hand to preform the jutsu, closing his eyes as it began and took them to Suna's hospital.
