Kani and Gaara's.. Hospital Room.. Thing

They poofed to the front doors of the hospital.

(let me make this short and sweet)

A bunch of nurses saw them when they appeared, seeing Kani was basicly unconcious on her feet and Gaara had blood all over him and several cuts all over his body. They took them to different rooms to be examined and as healed as possible before escorting them to the rooms where they would sleep.

Gaara sat in the hospital bed they had taken him to, staring annoyingly at the gown he had to wear. He remembered the last time he had to wear one of these..

He shivered slightly as the disturbing thought ran through his mind. "I hate this place.."

( i remember that! haha! lets say are rooms are near each other)

Kani had been sitting in bed ever since they brought her in. Since she didn't sleep she just sat there with her eyes closed, trying hard not to freak out.

I should go find Gaara...

She quietly slipped out of her room and walked down the hall until she caught sight of Gaara in one of the rooms. She walked in, smiling slightly.

"Hey..."

((ooc: Lmao that was funny And alright XD))

He looked up, seeing Kani. "Hey.."

He softly tapped the bandage that had been wrapped around his forehead. "See, I kept my promise.."

Kani smiled and walked in before sitting down on one of the chairs that was pushed up against the wall.

"One of the nurses gave me such a lecure that I thought I'd actually fall asleep."

"What did they say?" He asked, watching as she had taken a seat in the chair beside the bed.

Kani shrugged and crossed her arms, focusing on him so she wouldn't have to focus that she was in a hospital.

"They said a couple things about not overexerting myself...learning my limits." She rolled her eyes. "I wasn't really listening."

He managed a smile. "Those are important things, Kani.."

He sighed. "I still wonder, though.."

Kani raised an eyebrow and pulled her feet onto the chair.

"What is it Gaara?"

"If you'd have left.." He began, looking at the sheets covering his legs on the bed. "Then.. none of this would have happened.. you'd be okay.. I'd.. be off somewhere, fighting him.."

Kani bit her lip and her smile faded as she looked at the ground.

"I couldn't leave you Gaara...I never could. I wouldn't want to anyway..."

"It would have been the best option for you.." He looked to her again. "You know.. Shukaku never took control as often when I was alone.. when I had no care for anyone, anything, I didn't need to protect something. Shukaku only ever took control when I was incredibly angry, and that's because I wouldn't bother stopping him. Now.. when I stand in front of people I care for.. hes able to weaken my mind. When I think about things too much.. he'll start poking at my control. It's easier when those I care for aren't standing in front of me when it happens."

Kani stared at the floor, her hands clentching the edge of her chair like she was hanging off a cliff.

"So basicly...it's worse for you...when you're around friends?" she asked quietly.

"In the sense that, no matter what I do, I'm endangering them.." He looked back to the sheets, his hands curling into fists. "I.. have never hated something so much.. as much as I hate him.. and I hate how I can't kill him without killing myself.."

Kani nodded.

"So...it would be better if I wasn't around?" she asked, looking up at him. "If it'll make it easier...I'll leave."

His whole body went stiff, and he stared at the sheets with slightly widened eyes. "I.. don't want you to go.."

I dont either but...[b]

"I don't want you to be in pain because of me," she said quietly.

"If you left.. it would be worse.." He said through clenched teeth, closing his eyes and lowering his head. "Better for you... though.."

'I don't want to be alone again..' He thought, his head lowering even more. His teeth were still clenched as he spoke. "Maybe.. maybe.. you s-should.."

Kani looked up at him, tears in her eyes. She nodded and slipped her legs off the seat before standing up and going to the door.

"Well...bye Gaara."

She walked out of the room and slowly down to hers, her arms crossed tightly across her chest to keep herself from crying.

It's better for him, she thought. He won't be in pain because of me anymore.

He felt his breathing stop as his eyes opened wide. Suddenly, at that moment, he knew for sure that he wasn't ready to lose anyone. He wouldn't let anything come in the way of keeping these people around him. Kani, Neko.. he wouldn't let himself lose them. Not again.

He found himself jumping from the bed, running out of the room and up behind Kani, tripping right as he had come up behind her. On the floor, his face practically smushed into it, he closed his eyes. "Kani, I don't want you to leave me, I've never wanted you to leave me, your one of the greatest things thats ever happened in my life, you are truly an important part in my life, and I will not let myself lose you again!! I don't care what I have to do, but I will not stand around and watch one of the best things in my life walk away from me!!"

((ooc: Lmao too bad he's in a hospital gown.. that just makes things awkward XP))

Kani spun around and looked down at him her eyes glistening with tears. She knelt down in front of him and helped him to sit up.

"Gaara..."

Her voice caught in her throat as she stared at him. Then she wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a hug.

"I love you so much. I always have. I never want you in pain so that's why I said I'd leave. But...oh Gaara."

He stared at the floor as he slowly wrapped his arms around her. "I don't.. I don't want to lose you guys again.. it.. would hurt too much.. I was sure I wouldn't be the same after those years.. but.. when you came back, everything felt right... if I were to lose you again.. I.. I don't even know..

"I won't ever let Shukaku rid me of the best things in my life.. ever again.."

Kani leaned her head on his shoulder.

"I couldn't believe it when I saw you again...I'm sorry I left like that...I just couldn't stand to see you like that...and it seemed as though you didnt want me around so...I did what I thought would make you happy..."

"It's.. it's not your fault.. but leaving me on my own wouldn't help.." He shook his head slightly. "I think.. I think I'd lose whatever soul I have left in me.. if that ever happened again.."
