Kani and Gaara's.. Hospital Room.. Thing

'Crazier than hes already been going, of course.' Shukaku laughed, Gaara putting a hand to his head as he attempted to ignore him. "Yeah.. at least it was all figured out.."

He frowned. "I'm sorry for this, Kani."

Kani shook her head. "No, no. You didn't do anything. I'm serious. If Shakaku wanted to talk, well..." She shrugged. "...he wouldn't need your help. And I'm fine, but a little annoyed. Usually I can get her to shut up. But that barrier should hold for a while." She tried to smile and succeded with half a one.

He sighed. "I know I didn't do anything.. it's just, hes bothering you. Again.."

'Hah, fools. Hey, chicky, why don't you let that barrier down so that your friend and I can have a little chit chat?' Shukaku snickered. 'It won't be for long, I promise.'

Kani laughed and shook her head. "Heh...again. Too true...too true..." She seemed like she was talking to herself, but then she looked up at him. "And you shouldn't worry about him bothering me, it's really all good."

"No, it's not all good." He shook his head. "Not at all."

'So, I give you two the power of telepathy and this is how you treat me? I think I deserve better than this.' Shukaku laughed. 'Maybe some time with, let's say, Mei? It's all I'm asking, then I'll leave you two to yourselves and you can do whatever the hell you want. I won't bug you, I swear.'

Kani looked at it. "Gaara...maybe I'm missing something...but I'm fine. This is fine. I can handle it, it's really nothing."

Why the hell do you want to talk to Mei anyway?! I'm not going to let her talk to you!

He frowned, looking to the ground. 'Why not? What are you, her owner? Why don't you let her make her own decisions?'

Gaara shook his head. 'Shukaku.. please, just go away..'

'What is this? Are you going against me, now, too?' Shukaku growled, doing something to make Gaara put his hand to his head and wince. 'It doesn't matter what you do, you can't get rid of me.'

Kani growled and looked at Gaara. "Are you ok?" she asked.

I can't be her owner, I wouldn't want to be owner! She's a nuscience, an annnoyance, a curse! Why would I ever want to own her! She makes her own decisions, I just like to control them sometimes!!

The annoying echoing of Mei's attempts faltered and then stopped altogether, and Kani looked up in surprise.

"I'm fine." He looked up at her, his expression one of concern. 'Whoa, chill out, hun. Look, seems like you scared her off. Good job, what comes next?'

Kani looked at Gaara, a little confused. "Why are you...?" She stopped talking and looked at the ground, the quietness in her head unnerving.

Mei?

He frowned, staying quiet. 'Aw, what's the matter, scared of the silence? Don't worry, I'll be your company for the time being. Maybe she'll decide to forgive you one day, hm?'

Kani stared at the floor, not thinking about anything. "What's going on...?" she mummbled. She looked up at Gaara, wondering why he was quiet.

"..." He continued to frown, looking away. 'What's the matter, Kani? Don't like my company? Aw, that's too bad, you can't do anything to shut me up, so you'll just have to deal with it. Say, have you always been this ignorant?'

Kani sighed and continued to look at Gaara. "Gaara, what's wrong?" she asked. "You haven't spoken in five minutes."

"Nothing, it's fine.." He said, glancing to her briefly. "It's just.. hn... nothing.."

'Why must you be so ignorant, hm? Why can't we be friends? What have I ever done to you?'

Am I really supposed to answer!![b]

Kani stared at him. "Don't give me that Gaara," she said. "Something is wrong. Please tell me, what is it?"

'It would be nice of you.' Shukaku laughed. One of Gaara's eyes twitched and he looked back at Kani. "Nothings wrong.. I just wish I could make him be quiet.."

Kani laughed. "We both know that's not going to happen." She stood up and stretched her arms above her head, sighing. "But it's all good. He's easy to ignore." She smiled.

"Unfortunately.." He frowned, shaking his head. 'Hah! Hm, hey, Kani, 'member that time in the desert? Mmm.. your tasty, did you know that?'

Gaara turned his head to the floor, staring at it while he kept one hand on his head, the other balled into a fist at his side.

Kani raised and eyebrow, momentarily confused, but then she remembered.

Interesting...extremely interesting.

She looked at Gaara. "I'm serious Gaara, you don't look really good."

'Heh, we should do it again sometime.' Gaara glared at the floor, clenching his teeth. He didn't say anything.

(what shakaku said, i just find it funny that you brought it up and with him saying that. what I just said probably made no sense but i found it funny)

Kani just watched Gaara, pushing Shakuku's voice to the back of her head. "Gaara? What's wrong? Is it Shakaku? Or...what's worng?"

He shook his head, his arm twitching. "Shukaku.."

'Heh, I know you want to. It would just make your day, wouldn't it?'

Kani just watched him, wishing that Shakaku would just shut up.

He shut his eyes and calmed himself down. "He's.. just.. trying to get to us.. more so you than myself, but.. hn.."

'You wish you could just pull me over and bring my face to yours, smoldering me in a passionate kiss just so you can taste the sensation it brings once more. Don't you, hun?' Gaara gave a low growl, unballing his fist and curling out his fingers, looking as though he were ready to rip somebody's face apart. 'Get lost.. she wouldn't want to do that even if it would save her life.. your disgusting..'

Shukaku laughed again. 'Ouch, that really hurts my feelings. How could you say something so mean to such a great friend and lifesaver?'
