Kani and Gaara's.. Hospital Room.. Thing

When things so silent. But there's no one talking when things so silent. Well thank you for that enlightenment Captain Obvious. Oh shut up. You're remarkable chatty today. Well there are lots to talk about, now are there?

Kani looked at Gaara and tapped her fingers on her arm in agitation.

"An echo...but..."

She frowned.

"I don't know what you're hearing Gaara."

He looked at her, blinking, suddenly confused. "Was it that obvious..? So, wait, you hear it too, then? But you just told me you didn't..?"

"I never said I heard it, I was acnolaging that you said it was an echo. I'm sorry Gaara but the only noise I hear is coming from downstairs."

I still don't get what he's talking about. Again HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW!God...alright then. Sheesh

"Am I annoying you..?" He asked, his head tilting slightly.

Kani shook her head.

"No...I'm just a little confused..."

"As am I.." He looked behind him again, staring down the hall.

Kani shook her head. "I don't think it's coming from there," she said. "Just...be quiet a second and let me see if I can hear it."

This is going to sound crazy, but I just need to make sure. What? I want you to yell. Like, be as loud as possible. You're right, you are sounding crazy. And I'd ask why...but I don't think I'd like the answer.

Kani stiffled a laugh and brased herself as Mei started to yell in her head, it was absolute nonesence but it was loud and Kani swore under her breath once.

He snapped his head back to Kani, closing his eyes as he raised his hands to his ears, trying to block off the extreamly loud yelling that had suddenly sounded out. "What.. is that obtrusive noise?!"

Oh my god. Shut up right now Mei! What's your problem? I was just doing what you- Be quiet...dont talk again...please...he can hear you.

Kani looked at Gaara, her face blank, but underneath she was so worried it was almost impossible to not let it show.

"Obstructive noise?" she asked, in what she hoped was a steady voice. "I...still dont hear anything."

"No, obtrusive, but that doesn't matter right now.." He pulled his hands away from his ears and stared at her. "Covering my ears did nothing, which means I was not particularly hearing that. Kani, I don't believe you, I'm sorry.. but I would like to know who Mei is."

It had seemed the extreamly loud noise had brought all his concentration to Kani, and now, though he didn't exactly understand what was going on, he heard every word. "I can hear now, Kani, and I know it's coming from you."

(so you and hear me and her together? or are you just hearing her? cause I only mentioned Mei when I was talking..oh never mind)

Kani looked at him and bit her lip before looking at the floor. "I'd say I have no idea what you're talking about...but that would be lying. Mei...is basicly me. In a different way..." She tried to figure out how to put it into words. "People would call her my demon...but she's a personal demon...and she talks to me. I wasn't sure if it was her you were hearing, so I had her make a lot of noise...and aparently it is her."

So Gaara, you can hear me?

Kani sighed.

"Hm.." He stared at her, trying to understand how he could hear her thoughts. "Yes, I can hear you. I'm not exactly sure why, but I can."

He thought for a second. "It's strange.. I can hear your thoughts suddenly, but can you hear mine?"

(yeah...that is scary...)

Kani kept her gaze on the floor and shook her head.

"No," she replied softly.

How can you hear me? Who are you asking? Gaara you idiot.

Kani sighed and rolled her eyes.

Shut up for once will you?[i]

"I don't understand.." He shook his head slightly. "I'm not sure how I can hear you.."

'I helped on that, fool.' Gaara froze briefly, then sighed. "And I've just found out that it was Shukaku who has done this. Apparently he did something to connect our minds.. I'm not sure, it doesn't make sense.. he says you should be able to hear him.."

Kani froze where she stood, her whole body locking momentarily with shock. "Wait...what?"

Well hello Shakaku, nice to finally meet you.What are you talking about? 'Nice to meet'?! Calm down Kani, it's just plesentries.

Kani shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "I can hear him," she said quietly.

'Heh, nice to meet you as well, Mei. Yes, Kani, calm down why don't you? Or are you still angry with me because of our little incident?' Gaara turned his head, glaring at the wall as Shukaku spoke. "I don't know what hes up to.."

Kani growled and squeezed her hand around her arm.

There's not word to describe how much- Kani, you really have to relax. Stop talking, right now Mei, or I'll shut you off.

Kani looked over at Gaara out of the corner of her eye, her face apoligetic.

'Now now, Kani, don't make any rash decisions. Why don't you just let Mei talk to me, hm?' Gaara shifted his eyes to look at Kani, frowning.

Kani closed her eyes and focused on creating a barrier in her head, she had done it before, but this time Mei was being difficult.

Just shut up. Come - stupid - rediculous - pathetic

Kani opened her eyes with a flash and the world suddenly tipped a little. She put a hand out to steady herself against a wall, and closed her eyes again. "I'm alright," she said automaticly, since she knew that Gaara was going to ask.

I'm not taking it down until we leave.

Gaara had taken a step towards her, his eyes wide until she had said she was alright. He nodded, looking to the floor. 'I really don't think that is fair at all, dear. Though, I'm sure you can't hold that barrier forever. And you must realize, this bond between minds will never perish, until I feel like destroying it. And if it comes to that, I can always bring it back again.'

Kani sighed, ignoring him; but it was harder then she thought. Shakaku's voice, unlike Mei's, echoed in her head.

"So...what were you saying?" she asked Gaara, not sure if he had been saying or not.

(Shakuku's a demon and i hate him and all...but i actualy partialy like him. Well...the way you post as him)

"Hes up to something.." He said, shaking his head. 'Is it that obvious? Huh, how silly of me, letting my plans be seen by a nuisance who really doesn't matter to me. Fool, you should know by now that I am always up to something.'

Kani sighed and leaned onto the wall a little more as Mei pushed at the barrier. "Is there anyway to get him to stop talking," she asked.

He closed his eyes, sighing quietly. "No.. I don't think so.."

Kani nodded and winced once. She sighed and rubbed her temples with her free hand. "Alright, just asking." She opened her eyes and looked at Gaara, forcing a smile. "Well at least you know what you heard," she said as light as possible. "Now you won't think you're going crazy."
